Minor OPD procedures are done in clinics on an out-patient basis. These include injections into joints, PRP/steroid injections, wound dressing, suture/staple removal, minor surgical procedures, etc.

These can safely be done under the effect of local anaesthesia. Admission is not required since these are usually done within 10-20 minutes. After these procedures patients can usually carry on with their routine activities.

Soft tissue injections

Painful conditions of muscles, tendons and ligaments may also sometimes need an injection. Tennis elbow, Plantar fasciitis (heel pain), Tenosynovitis (inflammation of tendons),

Bursitis, Coccydynia (tail bone pain) etc. are commonly seen orthopaedic conditions.

Sometimes they may not resolve completely with medicines, rest and physiotherapy. In those cases injecting the painful area with steroid or PRP is a quick, safe and effective way of bringing about pain relief.
